From candles to oriental rugs – Supplying Retail Outlets at Extreme Speed
This 'Fast Track' system was awarded to DCS of Texas just a mere 3 months before the system was installed and fully operational. Containing nearly eleven miles of the latest state-of-the-art conveyors, we handle nearly 78 million units a year through-out this 1,000,000 square foot facility in Indiana. A steady flow of cartons stream from receiving and cross-dock in-bound lanes to and thru a variety of packaging areas arriving at a central high speed sortation area at 140 carton per minute speed. From the sliding shoe sorter cartons are reliably diverted to 32 separate shipping lines and/or 4 separate cross-dock out-bound lines for immediate departure to one of 159 retail outlets and/or 4 other regional distribution centers. This system utilizes a complete DCS supplied and installed 'SMS' system, providing our customer with imperative statistical data and component reliability in 'real-time' speed. The SMS system also tracks hours of operation and logs all maintenance information, paging and notifying the maintenance supervisor immediately upon any component failure (complete with part number and location of failure) and/or any overdue routine service.
